Fortnite is a Battle Royale game that has exploded in popularity over the past few years. When 100 people are dropped onto an island, who will survive? Anyone caught outside the safe zone will take continuous damage.

Gameplay: The Survival Concept 10/10

Fortnite is based on a survival concept. Players start from a flying vehicle and drop down to a preferred location. The safe zone shrinks every few minutes with a new safe zone appearing somewhere inside the current one. All competing players are pushed to gun each other down.

The last player standing is the winner. Fortnite also gives you a pickaxe that you should use to build structures and gather resources. Nearly everything in the game can be destroyed and harvested. These materials are used to build walls, floors, ramps and roofs. Weaker structures can be quickly destroyed, while stronger pieces are harder to break.

Graphics: Cartoonish Vibes 9/10

Fortnite has a cartoonish vibe. Colors are exaggerated, and the characters are dressed in bright clothes. The game has a personality and reminds us of Disney animations. Fortnite runs smoothly on most devices, even in more demanding modes (e.g., two teams fighting on a small island). Most phones can handle a lot of onscreen shooting. However, playing for an hour will drain the battery. Some players complain about issues with their phones heating up.

Lasting Appeal: Unlimited Fun 10/10

Fortnite has hundreds of hours of content, and it encourages you to play matches over and over again. It's cooperative and competitive, and it's a different experience every time. Besides, the developers regularly roll out updates to improve online experience and combat cheating. They also promise to keep adding more content.

Controls: Onscreen Virtual Joystick 6/10

Fortnite has a confusing array of controls. The movement works fine unless you need to move your character and shoot at the same time. When it happens, your thumb covers up a big part of the screen. There are also icons for selecting items and jumping, which are a bit too small for people with smaller devices.

Fortnite is so popular because it's a fun multiplayer game that's easy to play. The Battle Royale genre is on the rise, and it helps Fortnite to pick up an audience quickly. If you've missed out on this game, it's time to check out Fortnite.
